Judoka Serafima Moscalu, un nou bronz în drumul spre Los Angeles 2028
Serafima Moscalu a cucerit medalia de bronz la Grand Slam-ul de judo de la Budapesta 2026, în limitele categoriei70 kg, după un parcurs excelent într-una dintre competițiile majore ale circuitului mondial, care contează în drumul spre LA 2028.
Moscalu a câștigat grupa D cu trei victorii consecutive. A trecut mai întâi de Tayla Grauer (Germania), apoi a învins-o pe Giorgia Stangherlin (Italia), iar pentru câștigarea grupei a reușit o victorie importantă în fața austriecei Michaela Polleres, dublă medaliată olimpică – argint la Tokyo 2020 și bronz la Paris 2024.
În semifinale, Serafima a fost oprită de grecoaica Elisavet Teltsidou, cea care avea să câștige ulterior Grand Slam-ul de la Budapesta, după un meci de mare intensitate.
În lupta pentru treapta a treia a podiumului, românca a întâlnit-o pe suedeza Ingrid Nilsson pe care a învins-o prin ippon, victorie care i-a adus medalia de bronz.
Hungary Grand Slam 2026 a reunit 504 sportivi din 67 de țări.
Este al doilea podium consecutiv în circuitul mondial pentru Serafima Moscalu, într-o competiție care punctează pentru calificarea la Jocurile Olimpice Los Angeles 2028, după bronzul cucerit în august la Grand Prix-ul de la Lima. În iunie, ea obținuse bronzul și la European Open de la Praga.
Parcursul de până acum al Serafimei Moscalu confirmă forma și ambiția sportivei de a face parte din Team Romania pentru LA28.

Judoka Serafima Moscalu Claims Another Bronze on the Road to Los Angeles 2028
Serafima Moscalu won the bronze medal in the 70 kg category at the Budapest 2026 Judo Grand Slam, following an excellent run in one of the major competitions on the world circuit, an event that counts on the road to LA 2028.
Moscalu won Pool D with three consecutive victories. She first defeated Tayla Grauer of Germany, then Giorgia Stangherlin of Italy, before securing the pool win with an important victory over Austria’s Michaela Polleres, a two-time Olympic medallist – silver at Tokyo 2020 and bronze at Paris 2024.
In the semifinals, Serafima was stopped by Greece’s Elisavet Teltsidou, who later went on to win the Budapest Grand Slam, after a highly intense contest.
In the bronze-medal bout, the Romanian faced Sweden’s Ingrid Nilsson and defeated her by ippon to claim third place.
The Hungary Grand Slam 2026 brought together 504 athletes from 67 countries.
This was Serafima Moscalu’s second consecutive podium finish on the world circuit, in a competition that awards points towards qualification for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games, following the bronze medal she won in August at the Lima Grand Prix. In June, she had also claimed bronze at the European Open in Prague.
Serafima Moscalu’s performances so far underline both her current form and her ambition to become part of Team Romania for LA28.
